Share the steps and methods of making cappuccino gold rings! What is the difference between a latte and a cappuccino?
As we all know, Martini, the king of cocktails, has the difference between "Dry" and "Wet". Dry means "dry" and Wet means "wet". The difference lies in the ratio of materials. So you can often see in cocktail bars that guests ask for Martini to dry or wet. Why did Qianjie suddenly mention this? Because the interesting thing is that you can see similar scenes in coffee shops. When some coffee gluttons order cappuccino, they ask the barista to "do it harder." This made many friends curious: Why are cappuccino also divided into "dry" and "wet"?
In fact, it's easy to understand because there are many versions of cappuccino. In a previous sharing, Zhongqian Street introduced that there are certain differences between ancient versions of cappuccinos and today's cappuccinos.
Are cappuccino also divided into "Dry" and "Wet"? Similarly, the difference between different versions of cappuccino lies in the proportion of materials used! We all know that the materials used to make cappuccino are espresso, milk, and milk foam. The ratio mentioned in Qianjie here mainly refers to the ratio of milk to milk foam. Different proportions will produce cappuccino with completely different taste and taste. Because of this, people will put forward different requirements based on their own taste preferences. Front Street first introduces "Dry Cappuccino", that is, a dry cappuccino.
A "dry" cappuccino refers to a cappuccino with thicker foam and less milk. Because there is more foam, less milk, and relatively low water content, it is relatively "drier", and this is the ancient version of cappuccino practice. Through the above introduction, I believe you can infer for yourself what a "wetter" cappuccino is, that is, a cappuccino with less foam, more milk, and a slightly higher moisture content, which is the version we often see nowadays. So what is the difference between the two?
Below are two cappuccinos made on Front Street according to the "dry cappuccino" and "wet cappuccino" standards! The coffee beans used are Qianjie classic Italian blend. It is a bean made from coffees from three producing areas: Indonesia, Brazil and Vietnam. It uses medium-to-depth roasting. The espresso made with it has a very classic taste and taste, and is a blend bean that is very suitable for making Italian coffee. The two cups of coffee use the same concentration. Both are 40ml coffee liquor extracted with 20g of Qianjie Classic Italian Blending Powder in a ratio of 1:2, which takes 30 seconds. Then, the milk used for "dry kabul" is 110ml, and the foam thickness is thicker (right); the milk used for "wet kabul" is 140ml, and the foam is thinner (left).
Although it doesn't seem much different, there are still obvious differences in the taste. Because the proportion of milk is small,"dry cappuccino" will have a very strong coffee flavor. We can obviously taste the flavor of chocolate, caramel, butter and nuts from Qianjie's classic Italian mix. The taste is very mellow, and then because the milk foam is very thick, the coffee still has a very dense touch to drink, which is very good; Milk in the "wet cappuccino" is relatively large, so the coffee flavor it tastes less than the former, but it is still a very strong type compared to latte. There is not much difference in flavor, after all, the same coffee beans are used. Then it will taste smoother and taste softer.
To sum up, you can know that the difference between "dry kabu" and "wet kabu" mainly lies in the proportion and its taste and taste. The reason why the mainstream practice of cappuccino has changed from "dry" to "wet" was mentioned in previous sharing by Zhongqian Street because of the birth of the art of pulling flowers. In order to make a beautiful pull flower pattern on the liquid surface, baristas chose to make appropriate cuts in the milk foam of the cappuccino, because making pull flowers requires higher mobility of the milk foam. However, the reduction of milk foam has increased the proportion of milk. Some coffee gluttons want to drink a stronger coffee flavor from cappuccino, so they will ask for "dry". Nowadays, there are also some coffee shops that do not pursue pulling flowers and directly produce the ancient version of "dry cappuccino." Not only can you drink a stronger coffee flavor from it, but you can also see the ancient "coffee golden circle", which is a classic that is different from the present ~
