Caffeine has long been considered to be one of the risk factors for osteoporosis, according to Taiwan's Kangjian magazine.
Women over the age of 50 after menopause need to drink coffee more carefully, with more than half of studies showing a link between caffeine intake and bone mineral density in women over the age of 50. How many cups of coffee do women drink a day to easily cause osteoporosis? A recent study of 3170 women with an average age of 50 to 84 found that drinking more than two units of caffeinated drinks a day (one unit equals one cup of coffee or two cups of tea) increased the risk of hip fractures by 69 per cent. Therefore, it is recommended that women over the age of 50 had better reduce their caffeine intake and should not drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day if they really want to drink coffee.
