At the first Cross-Strait Modern Agriculture Expo being held here, Nankeng Town, Nanjing County, Fujian Province, and Dongshan Township, Tainan County, Taiwan, successfully docked to discuss the development of in-depth cooperation and exchanges in the coffee industry and promote the construction of the first coffee demonstration park in Fujian Province.

"the coffee industry in Nankeng Town has benefited from agricultural exchanges and cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, and our first coffee sapling was introduced from Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, Taiwan." The mayor of Nankeng, Zhang Wen, told reporters.

Coffee industry is a new industry in Fujian Province. In 2006, Huang Wenguang, a Taiwanese businessman who invested locally, brought several Arabica coffee seedlings from Gukeng Township to Nankeng Town for trial planting, and brought the coffee fruit back to Taiwan for processing and baking. He found that the coffee grown in Nankeng is of strong flavor and good quality, which is no less than Gukeng coffee.

Subsequently, Huang Wenguang put forward the idea of investing in a coffee plantation to the local government, which received strong support. At the end of 2008, he invested 5 million US dollars to establish a Zhangzhou Tianlu (Nankeng) coffee demonstration base in Nankeng Town. At present, the first 100 mu coffee sightseeing park and the first coffee planting demonstration base in Fujian Province have been built, driving local farmers to plant more than 500 mu of coffee, and successfully registered the trademark of "Nankeng Coffee".

Zhang said that coffee cultivation in Nankeng lacks experience, so we invite Lai Cheng-hsiung, a well-known coffee expert in Taiwan, to provide technical guidance, and most of the business models learn from Taiwan's "Gukeng" and "Dongshan" coffee. In August this year, Nankeng Town Agricultural Technical Service Center also signed a coffee industry development cooperation agreement with Gukeng Township Coffee production Cooperative to promote cooperation between enterprises and non-governmental organizations of the two places.

During this agricultural fair, Zhang Wen was excited by the experience of coffee cultivation in Dongshan Township, Tainan County. He said that the coffee industry has been incorporated into the development plan of the modern agricultural cooperation park on both sides of the Taiwan Strait (Nanjing, Fujian), and will take the establishment of a "coffee demonstration park" as an opportunity to strengthen counterpart technology exchanges with Taiwan's Gukeng and Dongshan within the scope of policy permission. make use of Nankeng's location, resources, policy advantages and Taiwan coffee brand advantages, resource advantages and management experience to build a perfect industrial chain. Further promote the industrial docking of modern agriculture between Fujian and Taiwan.

Mayor Zhang said confidently, "next year we will hold a cross-strait coffee culture festival with Taiwan's counterpart villages and towns to showcase our docking achievements!"
