So is Youtiao + coffee, a combination of Chinese and Western breakfast, really better for your health?

Youtiao is a fried food with a good taste. It can make people feel full and take a long time to empty. it usually takes 4 to 6 hours to empty, but it is very high in calories. If you eat two Youtiao for breakfast, then the oil intake of two Youtiao can reach or even exceed the amount of oil you should eat in a day.

Moreover, it is difficult to guarantee that the oil used to fry Youtiao on the market is disposable. Repeated high-temperature heating of the oil will produce toxic and harmful substances, among which unsaturated fatty acids are highly toxic when heated at high temperature. Then there is the well-known problem of high aluminum content in Youtiao, so from a food safety point of view or nutrition point of view, Youtiao is not often recommended as a staple food for breakfast.

When it comes to combinations, from a nutritional point of view, the traditional Youtiao + soy milk is still better than Youtiao + coffee. Because soybean milk can solve the grease of Youtiao, it can decompose oil and reduce blood lipids. Although coffee has a refreshing effect, many people feel refreshed after drinking a cup of coffee for breakfast, but because few people drink coffee directly, it is often seasoned with sugar, so the intake of sugar will increase when drinking coffee. Therefore, Youtiao with coffee, this kind of breakfast will be higher in calories.

It can be seen that Youtiao + coffee, although it may reduce aluminum intake as verified by two students, but from a nutritional point of view, this combination of Chinese and Western breakfast is not good for health, nor is it recommended.

According to Chinese custom, we seldom eat vegetables for breakfast. in fact, we should also ensure the intake of vegetables for breakfast. The food for breakfast should be varied and reasonable. If breakfast includes four kinds of food, such as cereals, animal foods (meat and eggs), milk and dairy products, vegetables and fruits, the breakfast is nutritious; if only three of them are included, the breakfast is more nutritious; if only 2 of them are included, the breakfast is not nutritious enough.
