Coffee can only cheer women up, the study found
In order to cope with the stress at work, many people are used to getting up early and having a cup of coffee to refresh their minds. But studies have shown that caffeine has a more positive effect on women than men. The study found that if women drank caffeinated coffee, they performed better under stress than men.
The team asked 64 male and female participants with an average age of 22 to complete tests such as puzzle-solving ability, collaborative memory and same-sex pairing ability after drinking caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. Participants in the caffeine group consumed caffeine equivalent to three cups of standard coffee. The study found that men's memory performance under stress was generally lower than that of women after drinking caffeine, and that women were 100 seconds faster than men in solving puzzles.
