Alyssa O'Neill reportedly made a simple wish to her parents the day she died of epilepsy: buy her a pumpkin latte. According to the O'Neill family's Facebook event page, when a customer was about to pay for the $23 care she received at a beauty parlor in Erie, she received a bill with a smiley face that read: "settled by other customers, # AJO, pass on love."
People who pay for coffee, pizza and other treats from strangers have posted photos of their good deeds on Facebook to help promote them.
The O'Neill family plans to set up the Forever Alyssa O'Neill Foundation (AJO Forever Fund) to remember their daughter. The fund will be used to help some families bear the medical costs of epilepsy-related diseases and will also provide scholarship support for outstanding nurses.
"it's a mixed feeling," Alisa's father, Jason, told the media website YourErie. "We must be mourning the loss of our beloved daughter, but the good deeds of these good people have really played a big role in helping us through this period."
