The output of Pu'er coffee accounts for nearly 60% of the country.

Su Dong, comprehensive section chief of Pu'er Coffee Industry Development Office, said in an interview with our reporter that Pu'er coffee has been growing for 100 years, but it only began large-scale production in the 1980s. Because it has been making the supply of raw materials for coffee beans in the early stage, the popularity and brand influence of Pu'er coffee are not enough. Through the continuous promotion and brand-building planning in recent years, Pu'er coffee has gained a certain reputation abroad. Pu'er Coffee is not affected by the European debt crisis.

Wang Zhengchun, a coffee merchant in Pu'er City, told reporters that at present, Pu'er coffee is very popular overseas, and the coffee beans produced every year are in short supply. However, as Europe and the United States are the main consumers of coffee beans, the futures prices of coffee beans also declined last year due to the European debt crisis, while the production of Pu'er coffee has increased, so the sales of Pu'er coffee have not been affected much. In addition to Europe and the United States, in Asia, Japan is the largest consumer of Pu'er coffee , and the demand is large and relatively stable. As to whether the drought in Yunnan will affect coffee production, Wang Zhengchun said that the drought in Yunnan is relatively concentrated in the northern part of Yunnan, while Pu'er in southwestern Yunnan is not greatly affected, and the drought is mainly concentrated in March and April of the following year. According to the coffee production cycle will not have a huge impact on coffee production.
