Caffeine Quantification Monitoring Application? Jawbone UP Coffee
Caffeine can be addictive, and too much caffeine can cause severe insomnia or affect health. In today's society, many of us are exposed to a lot of caffeinated fuels every day, such as coffee, tea, cola, and other beverages, but we have never really understood whether excessive caffeine intake affects our sleep and health. Recently, Jawbone App Lab has developed an interesting app, UP Coffee, which quantifies the daily intake of caffeine and provides health insights.
UP Coffee is the first product of Jawbone App Lab and is the latest health tracking app that currently only supports iOS 7 Apple users. UP Coffee monitors caffeine in your daily intake of coffee, tea, cola, and other beverages to give you health insights or remind you whether it's time to go to bed?
The Jawbone Application Lab is a forum for employees to try out product innovations, explained to us by the forum's product manager." UP Coffee"was an innovation we had internally, our team was excited, we tried it; it was an innovation experiment." UP Coffee is an experiment that uses Jawbone to provide third-party developer APIs.
The main display of UP Coffee is an animated bottle containing various caffeine beverages, and the colors represent the consumption and calories of different caffeine beverages. When you want another drink, you can select the corresponding drink from the preset list. There are various drinks in the preset list, such as latte, coffee, black tea, coke, etc.
For more in-depth or historical data, slide over the animated bottle interface and curve statistics appear. Here is a graph showing how little caffeine your body has left over time, giving you an idea of your body's intake and telling you how little it continues to consume or affects your sleep and health. This data can also be shared via email or Twitter.
Jawbone and UP Coffee claim that after just ten days of sleep tracking, UP Coffee was able to calculate an average caffeine consumption of about 100mg per sleep and other data. This may be more useful than a bunch of activities that tell you how many steps to walk and how many runs to jump rope.
