It took her two years to go from an ignorant Jiaojiao girl to a capable young senior in the workplace, from shyness to being good at communicating with strangers, and from a coffee layman who only drank instant coffee to a senior coffee dispenser at McCaf é at McDonald's in the World Trade Center. It took her just over half a year.

Two years is not long, but people around her are pleasantly surprised to witness her growth step by step; half a year is not a short time, Chen Yan admitted that she is always infected and moved by McDonald's warm and tolerant working atmosphere.

In the big family, grateful and moved

Chen Yan's first memory of McDonald's is that her smiling sisters danced with the children. Of course, she was one of the happy children. "at that time, she especially wanted to be a McDonald's sister when she grew up."

When she was a sophomore, a good friend who worked as a receptionist at McDonald's told her, "McDonald's is very much like a big family, which makes her learn to grow up and be very tolerant to her." So, under the introduction of a friend, she joined McDonald's work-study program in 2010.

Chen Yan started to work with longing, but she also encountered many small difficulties when she first became familiar with various positions. I remember that when I first learned to order meals, I was not adept at it. When there were more customers, I began to urge her. The trainer saw her panic and told her, "it's all right, little sister, don't be afraid, this is a learning process, you can't back down because of pressure, remember to entertain every customer graciously." Customers will understand you, too. " The friendliness of colleagues and the tolerance and guidance of the master made her go through the initial adaptation period without too much apprehension.

Chen Yan has now become the master of the new employees in the restaurant, but she always reminds herself to be tolerant of the newcomers, such as when a new employee makes a mistake in the product, she will communicate jokingly after she corrects it in time, "you put the ingredients in reverse order." punish you to drink all this drink, don't forget it next time. Last year, McDonald's selected coffee mixers from among its employees. Chen Yan was lucky to be selected because of her good affinity and willingness to learn.

Chen Yan, who had only drunk instant coffee before that, joined the McCaf é team to release Buddha into another field, and everything was brand new. As soon as she started making mocha, she couldn't hit the foam well, so she practiced it over and over again. Later, when she learned to be a latte, she worked even harder. When she was at home, she poured two cups into the water to practice her tricks. Now she has been able to pull out beautiful hearts, leaves, butterflies, and so on. "I'm still learning. I want to learn more difficult things like swans."

After more than half a year of training, she not only knows a lot of professional knowledge such as the selection and roasting of coffee beans, but also knows the gold medal standards and production methods of different kinds of coffee, such as American classics, cappuccino, latte, mocha and so on. and can skillfully present the best coffee experience to customers in two minutes.

Although she has just entered the workplace, with the professional training and stage of McDonald's, Chen Yan has successfully realized the "triple jump" from a probationary coffee mixer to a coffee mixer and then to a senior barista within half a year.

Perfect transformation in the face of challenges

Chen Yan, who was originally very shy, was often in contact with different customers and was much more cheerful, according to her words-"finally dare to communicate with strangers."

Every week, McCaf é holds tasting meetings. In addition to inviting regular customers and arranging reservations, Chen Yan also looks for some new customers in the restaurant to participate. She will feel very relieved when the customer approves her recommendation.

Chen Yan also admitted that two years of McDonald's work has made her grow from a coquettish girl at home to a capable young senior.
