In order to get the precious coffee beans, local farmers in Indonesia will catch the civets in cages and feed them themselves. There are also some coffee merchants who simply contract an island to raise civets and let them eat and pull themselves, without forcing them to eat and poop, so the coffee beans they end up with are more valuable.

Does Kopi Luwak taste good?
