Yunnan, as China's largest coffee bean planting, production and export base, has been busy picking coffee beans since October and continues until May next year. A relevant official of the Yunnan Provincial Meteorological Bureau revealed that this year, the spring drought in Yunnan Province is not obvious, the summer drought is very serious, and the autumn drought is more serious than usual, and the drought is likely to continue to develop after the end of the rainy season.

At present, it is the end of the rainy season in Yunnan. The Yunnan Provincial Meteorological Bureau recently announced that there has been little precipitation in most parts of the province since the beginning of this year, there is a serious shortage of water storage in reservoirs and ponds, and drought continues in some areas. However, the drought did not adversely affect Yunnan coffee beans. Hu Lu, deputy secretary general of the Yunnan Coffee Industry Association, told reporters that compared with the drought in the province last year, this year's drought is mainly concentrated in northeastern Yunnan, which has little impact on the main coffee producing areas of western and southern Yunnan, and rainfall basically ensures the growth of coffee.

At present, more than 90% of the domestic coffee is grown in Yunnan, and Yunnan coffee beans are mainly supplied to the world's five coffee giants-Nestle, Maxwell, Kraft, Newman and Ikam. It is understood that most of Yunnan's coffee is exported to Europe and the United States through Vietnam, which greatly increases the demand for coffee and stimulates Yunnan's coffee export. Due to a certain degree of freezing disaster and drought in Yunnan last winter, the price of coffee went up in the last harvest, rising by about $1.50 per kilogram of coffee beans.

For this year's relatively stable coffee planting and harvest situation, Hu Lu predicted that the price of coffee beans will remain stable and will not be as high as last year. "Coffee prices rose sharply in the last harvest period, resulting in a lot of new coffee acreage, but due to the continuous expansion of market demand, coffee bean prices have maintained the high level of the previous season since this year's harvest season. however, as the disaster is not as serious as last year, leading to a substantial reduction in production, the harvest price of coffee beans in this season starts at 30 yuan per kilogram. But it should not rise to more than 40 yuan as it did last year. "

Hu Lu's words were confirmed by a salesperson from Yunnan Coffee Factory of Yunnan Agricultural Reclamation Group, who told reporters that the price of newly harvested Yunnan coffee beans is about 33 yuan per kilogram.
