Coffee Fun Xiamen Cafe Recommended Xiamen Travel Coffee

For cafes
Some people like its smell.
Some people are infatuated with its atmosphere.
But I love to visit cafes all over the world.
Feel the deeper taste of the cafe.
One weekend in April 2015, my photographer friend and I went to Xiamen, the coffee capital of China. I heard that there are thousands of cafes in Xiamen, large and small. As a fan of cafes, how can I not go to Xiamen to explore coffee shops?
When I arrived in Xiamen this time, I went to six or seven cafes a day. I seemed to have returned to the feeling of visiting stores in the United States in the past few years. I was a little excited and touched from the bottom of my heart. I feel that the coffee culture of Xiamen, which can be regarded as the least bourgeois city in China, is on a par with the West.
Note: my trip to Xiamen is relatively short, a total of 3 days, I referred to the online information, asked the local coffee talent, Meitu coffee-loving designers, combined with the recommendations of baristas I met in the store, designed the # Coffee Marathon Route #. There are still many great cafes that haven't had time to go, such as Chu Jiayuan in Gulangyu, no coffee in miss, etc.-be sure to go to more shops next time:)

▲ Xiamen baristas told me their personal list and designed my 2-day map of Xiamen.

1 / 32how the literary flavor is boiled into the coffee.
Address: 32 Huaxin road
The winding Huaxin Road can be seen everywhere with old houses, green trees, flowers and couples taking wedding photos. Looking at this picture, I subconsciously know that I have entered the most artistic cafe in Xiamen.

2/ thank you bar |New York on College Road
Address: 8- 9 #Store, No. 162, University Road, Xiamen, Siming District
My friend recommended that I definitely go to the thank you bar opened by fashion designers and couples to experience it. So, walk in Shapowei Xiamen University near the University Road. Ask passers-by with the address and be told that it is near Xiamen University Hospital and there is no signboard.
When I saw a neat white tile and a low-key storefront blocked by a roadside tree, my intuition told me that it was "thank you." Sure enough, I pulled the button and saw the words "thank you" written on the floor tile at the door. At that moment, I felt familiar with the dimly lit small restaurant in West Village, New York. I was quite moved.

I can't forget the details of the menu with the words "thank you, canteen" at the bottom.
When I walked in, I was touched by the simple and clean design inside. Because it is evening, the dim lights inside, decorative paintings hanging on the wall, the bar on the right-hand side attracted my attention, here, you can taste all kinds of special Lin.

Because I drank a lot of coffee in the afternoon, I had a bowl of peppermint yogurt + honey + granola.

3 / finespace Van Yue | I am Fine's attitude towards life
Add: shop 101, No. 9, Fudali District, Qixing West Road, Siming District (opposite Qixing Building)
I was impressed by Fanyue's coffee porcelain cup. This is a cafe + activity space, and there are often breakfast meetings, reading sharing sessions and other activities. My own sharing meeting in Xiamen is also on the second floor.

There is a small detail in the bathroom here. When you look in the mirror, you will see the word "I am fine" reflected in the mirror and there will be an inexplicable surprise in your heart. Xiamen is a casual city full of small surprises.
4 / Jizhi Department Store | A hundred-year-old arcade turned into a tile museum
Address: 116 Kaiyuan Road [the old store is located at 37 Dayuan Road (near Lujiang Cinema)] (Xiamen eighth vegetable Market)
The century-old arcade, located in the "eight cities" of Xiamen eighth Market, has become today's "Jizhi Department Store" under the transformation of local craftsman Yang and his team. if you are familiar with Miyahara Ophthalmology in Taiwan or Gloria 225 in Guangzhou, Jizhi Department Store gives me the same feeling.
The first floor is Aji pie, the second floor is the exhibition hall of Xiamen handletter, including a "secret garden", each item has its own unique story, the third floor is a selection of Japanese and Taiwan life aesthetics books, and the fourth floor is a cafe. Here I met the smiling manager, Bones, who was pleasantly surprised to see my coffee map. On the fifth floor is the teahouse and garden, and downstairs is the eighth market in the old city.

▲, an old woman in her twenties, came to visit Gizhi Department Store and said, "Young people don't like places like this, do they?" "Sister Bone, the store manager, said: young people like it, too.
I was very moved by this scene. I think it is also the protective development of Jizhi Department Store, which gives new life to old buildings.
5 / barista honor | found the memory of Los Angeles in Xiamen
Address: no. 2, Xiamen university road, Shapowei
I was impressed by the Barista honor in Shapowei, because this hardline store made me feel like I was in a cafe in Los Angeles.

6 / Coffee Coffee | Paradise for cat lovers
Address: shop 121, Hong Kong plaza, 296 Ha Wo road
I came here after 10:00 in the evening, with a very quiet environment and soft lights. There are many books and Polaroid photos of the guests in the store. There is a guitar in the corner and a variety of coffee awards won by the boss on the bookshelf. In addition to the delicious hand-made coffee, the highlight here is, of course, cats that can be seen everywhere.

7 / goodone Warehouse + Middle Kitchen | A concern for the old days
Address: at the foot of Dongpu Mountain, Siming District (forced to relocate this autumn)
An Ghost from the Middle Ancient Kitchen received me and told me about his days when he lived on the island before he was commercialized in Gulangyu. His coffee philosophy is: "how can a good cafe not have a good cup of coffee?"
Although it has been half a year since this trip to Xiamen, I remember deeply in my mind that Angui and the two of his favorite cafes I mentioned are now closed.

One is a small shop opened by a couple, which opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. Day after day, Xiamen makes me feel like a paradise full of sentimental petty bourgeoisie. It seems that this couple opened a coffee shop not for a living, but for a pursuit. Later, after my son went to study in Germany, the coffee shop closed.
The other is the sixth bowl of coffee run by musicians, which may be like the teahouse where literary and artistic youth gather in Jing'an villa in Shanghai. in the evening, many musicians will gather in a three-story cottage, a kind of purity that has not been seen for a long time in the metropolis.
"meet and miss" seems to be the impression given to me by the owners who set up shop in Xiamen.

Teacher Yang has worked in dozens of professions. Recently, he is writing a book called failure Learning. He has run 32How, worked as tile, and worked as etc, an advertising media company. The collection of old things in the warehouse comes from his own love of old things. At the weekend market near the city of Pakistan, you will see Mr. Yang there with his own old things.

▲ every item here gives me the taste of years, and I don't want to leave when I come.
Postscript: many people ask me why I like to go to cafes.
I like to look for a small shop without signs in forgotten corners and corners in the big city. As far as I am concerned, every time I go to a strange city, the popular scenic spots are just casual or simply give up. I choose the streets where I can better understand the cultural heritage of the city and the streets of the city.
This is why every time I go to a city, I choose to go to an interesting "cafe", because I can meet a lot of local people with stories and bosses who give up their jobs for the sake of affection. Whether it's going to Xiamen, Yangshuo, Chicago or Boston, I met a lot of local talent and had a different experience because I went to a cafe.
