Today Wallenford Coffee Limited is a private company wholly owned by the Government of Jamaica. The company's Blue Mountain coffee plantations are located in the heart of the Blue Mountains at the junction of the St. Andrew's and Portland regions, while Alpine coffee plantations are located in Clarendon, St. Catherine's and St. James's regions. The company's business runs through the whole process of coffee production from planting, primary processing, storage and sales of green beans to coffee roasting and sales of cooked beans, and has developed new related products in recent years. After the establishment of the Jamaica Coffee Industry Council, a long-term and close cooperative relationship was established with Wallenford Coffee Limited. Jamaica's current national standards for coffee cultivation and processing are mostly from Wallenford Coffee Limited. This, coupled with the unique status of the Jamaica coffee industry as the only state-owned enterprise, has led many to confuse Wallenford Coffee Ltd. with the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board, so much so that both sides have to explain it frequently.

In response, the Jamaica Coffee Industry Council increased its focus on the Chinese market and actively recommended Jamaica premium coffee to the Chinese market
