The current Constitution of Honduras entered into force on 20 January 1982. The Constitution establishes that Honduras is republican, democratic and representative. The National Assembly is the highest legislative body. The President is the Head of State and Government and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and exercises the executive power of the State. Cabinet is the executive branch of government, directly led by the President. [2]
President Zelaya ignored opposition from the Supreme Court, the military, Congress and the ruling party and insisted on holding a referendum on June 28, 2009. He asked voters whether they agreed to set up a constituent assembly to amend the constitution so that the president could be re-elected during the presidential election in November 2009. At the same time, a formal referendum was held. Since the military had refused to deliver referendum votes, a military coup was launched one hour before the referendum. The military gathered hundreds of soldiers to arrest President Zelaya at the presidential residence and took him to an air base on the outskirts of the capital Tegucigalpa. The military then sent a special plane to exile Zelaya to Costa Rica.
Parliament is unicameral and is the highest legislative body in the country, consisting of 128 members. Members are elected directly by voters for a term of four years. The current parliament was formed in January 2010, with 62 seats for the ruling Liberal Party, 55 seats for the Kuomintang and 11 seats for other parties. Juan Orlando Hernández of the Nationalist Party was elected in January 2010 for a four-year term. [2]
The present Government was formed on January 27, 2010, and its main Cabinet members are: Maria Antoneta Guillen, Vice-President and Minister of the Presidency María Antonieta Guillén, Minister of the Interior and Justice, Afflico Madrid (Áfrico Madrid), Minister for Foreign Affairs Milaya Aguero de Corrales (female, Mireya Agüero de Corrales), Minister of Industry and Trade Adonis Lavaille Adonis Lavaire, Minister of Finance Vilfredo Serrato Rodriguez Wilfredo Cerrato Rodríguez, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Rigberto Cuellar Cruz (Rigoberto Cuellar Cruz), Minister of Labor Felicido Avila Ordonez Felícito Avila Ordóñez, Minister of Health Arturo Bundania (Arturo Bendaña), Minister of Education Maron Oneel Escoto Marlon Oniel Escoto, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Housing Miguel Pasto Miguel Pastor, Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Tulio Mariano Gonzalez Tulio Mariano González, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Hakovo Regalado Jacobo Regalado, Minister of Defense Marlon Pascua, Minister of Public Security Arturo Corrales Álvarez, Minister of Tourism Nelly Jerez Caballero, Minister of Technical Cooperation Julio Raudales
Honduran coffee is imported from El Salvador. Coffee production was initially in a state of inexorable heat until the Brazilian frost of 1975. Brazil was hit hard, coffee production plummeted, while Honduras took advantage of the opportunity to "rise", coffee production soared from 500,000 bags to 1.8 million bags, and was robbed. Coffee production in Honduras really took off after that. Honduras is now the second largest coffee exporter in Central America (after Guatemala), mainly to the United States and Germany.
What is there to miss about coffee in this turbulent country? Honduran coffee does not have very distinctive characteristics. The overall taste is rich and extremely balanced, which is its biggest feature.
Medium or light acidity, giving a distinct but not intense sensation. Sometimes with a nice floral or fruity aroma (generally different regions, different altitudes of beans have different performance). It is not at all reminiscent of the turmoil in this country. Bitterness and pronounced sweetness. Honduran coffee taste overall balanced, acid and bitterness are not so strong, the balance between the two is very good.
Honduran coffee's extremely balanced character makes it versatile. It can be used to blend coffee or brewed as a single product, and the Italian espresso blended with Honduran coffee can have amazing results. Although in troubled times, coffee can also grow its own wonderful, it is not difficult to understand why so many people are so obsessed with this black liquid, to some extent this is not a simple love or habit, coffee is a mood or rely on it. I hope this country will soon show the vitality and splendor of coffee. Turbulent Honduras has a future as exciting as Honduran coffee.
