New study: coffee reduces female Mortality
The health effects of drinking coffee are still controversial, with some saying good and others bad. Coffee drinking is associated with mortality in middle-aged men and women, and among women, drinking coffee can also reduce their risk of dying from heart disease, according to a new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
Whether coffee plays a positive role in preventing other causes of death, such as heart disease or cancer, remains to be confirmed by further research. The study was conducted mainly through questionnaires, and none of the participants had previously had heart disease or cancer.
The study, which followed 84214 women between 1980 and 2004, found that women who drank 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day were 25% less likely to die of heart disease than those who did not drink coffee. the risk of dying from other causes (excluding cancer and heart disease) was 18% lower.
In addition, they followed 41736 men from 1986 to 2004. Those who drank 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day were as likely to die as non-drinkers, neither high nor low.
