Ecuador: coffee growers analyze business opportunities in the Russian market
Quito (Picincha).-Ecuadorian entrepreneurs and Russia held a meeting to strengthen coffee exports to the Russian market. The event was attended by trade union leaders of the two countries and representatives of 25 enterprises importing coffee. This is an opportunity to promote exports and investment (near Ecuador).
The content of the meeting was "suggestions on how to strengthen coffee production in Ecuador and create opportunities for business in the coffee sector and the Russian city". The meeting was attended by the National Commission and the Director-General of Economic Cooperation of Latin America (CN CEPLA), Tatiana Mashkova, Ecuadorian Ambassador to Russia, Cesar Prado, Ecuador Commercial Office, Andre Karpov and Paul Pinoargote. The head of General Manager Anecaf é also attended the meeting.
According to Ecuadorian data, according to the General Customs Administration of the Russian Federation, coffee imports from Ecuador increased by 219 per cent between 2015 and 2016. The number of people engaged in the coffee industry has grown from 150000 to 489000, and Ecuador has become the fourth largest exporter of soluble coffee after Brazil, Germany and India.
For M. Andre Karpov, who represents Ecuador, said the increase was mainly due to a significant increase in demand in the Russian coffee market. In addition, consumers' requirements for the quality of coffee origin products are significantly improved.
