Santa Clara Fredy Guarchaj Estate Introduction

Santa Clara is a beautiful city situated on a hilly slope at high altitude, stretching from 1500 meters above sea level to 2000 meters above sea level on Lake Atitlan. Lake Atitlan, with an area of 130.1 square kilometers, is the largest inland lake in Guatemala and is formed by water accumulated in craters left by volcanic eruptions.

Surrounded by three volcanoes, the soil in the Lake Atitlan area has been enriched by volcanic ash accumulated over the years. The Lake Atitlan region has a special microclimate; in the morning, dry and cold air from the highlands brings to Lake Atitlan; in the afternoon, moist and warm air from the sea over the lowlands brings abundant rainfall.

This coffee is cultivated by the Freddy family, small farmers in Lake Atitlan, who grow various crops such as onions, tomatoes, beans, etc. Coffee is especially hand-picked and hand-selected by the Freddy family. Due to the small economic scale of harvesting, the coffee harvested by the Freddy family is processed in a traditional and sophisticated washing plant on the shores of Lake Atitlan. After 100% sunlight drying, make good use of the abundant sunshine time in the local microclimate.
