Can coffee really stop the deterioration of hepatitis C?
Drinking several cups of coffee a day can prevent the deterioration of hepatitis C and related liver diseases, scientists have found.
Neil, National Cancer Institute? Friedman led the study. He conducted a questionnaire survey of 766 hepatitis C patients who had never received formal treatment, asking patients how often and how much coffee and tea they drank. Among them, the frequency is divided into "never drinking" and "daily drinking", while daily drinkers need to answer the drinking amount, which can be divided into "1 cup", "2 cups", "3-4 cups" and "5 cups or more".
The results showed that patients with hepatitis C who drank three or more cups of coffee a day were 53% less likely to get worse than those who did not drink coffee. However, the researchers found no correlation between tea drinking and the progression of hepatitis C.
