Why does the bean grinder clean and replace the blade regularly? Cleaning and maintenance of Cabranza Capresso CP-560 bean grinder

I use a small brush to clean the bean grinder every day, but sometimes there is still some fine powder stuck in the cracks, especially under the turntable of the knife set. If some come out at 05:00, I can't finish brushing it. In addition, if you grind too many deep-roasted coffee beans, the whole bean grinder will become black. It looks like it has been used for a long time, but in fact it only takes a few months. When the coffee man's penchant for cleanliness in the body breaks out, he wants to take it apart and wash it.

For fear that the bean grinder would not be able to go back after it was dismantled (I often make this mistake), I first asked the Google god if anyone had the experience of dismantling the Cabranza bean grinder. Unfortunately, there seems to be no answer on the Taiwan web page. Because Cabranza's bean grinder is not as popular in Taiwan as Pegasus, I started with the English web page. As a result, it took a lot of time, and the only related article I found was the user's experience on Amazon. The author dismantled the knife holder, cleaned the bean grinder, and thought that the original factory should put the process of disassembly and cleaning into the user manual. Encouraged by this message, I boldly tried to disassemble my Cabranza bean grinder. Now post the whole process, hoping to benefit the readers who use this bean grinder.

1. The first step before disassembling and cleaning is to prepare the tools. There are mainly three items in the following picture: special screwdriver set, brush, and one word. Because the knife holder is fixed by a long star screw, what we need is only one of this whole set of screwdrivers. You have to go to the hardware store to choose carefully, because star-shaped screwdrivers are not easy to buy. The brush is used for cleaning and there is no need to explain. A word screwdriver is used to push open the card tenon, looking for a smaller head. It will be explained in more detail later.

two。 When the tools are ready, you can start your homework. Remove the bean holder and the silicone ring from the upper knife seat, and you will see the picture below. First take a look at the structure of the Cabranza bean grinder. This picture shows how the upper knife seat is positioned. The star-shaped screw head in the middle is the long screw that holds the lower tool seat.

If you take off the upper knife seat, you will see the bean grinding trough and the lower knife seat. This is where the coffee beans were broken to pieces. Can you see the dirty look of the oil? This is the result of daily maintenance.

3. Let's disassemble the knife holder first. First find the card tenon in the picture, there are two on the left and right. As long as you gently push in with your hand, you can release it. But because this card tenon is a bit deep, so, need a word screwdriver, and then push it, on the knife seat can be taken apart.

What it looks like when you open it. There is indeed some old powder stuck in it.

That's not enough. we have to remove the whole metal knife group. The reason is that Cabranza's knife set is made of white iron and is easy to rust if it comes into contact with water. My experience is that I can see Rust Class the next day. If it can be removed, the metal knife group can be brushed with a small brush, and the plastic part can be washed with dishwashing essence or water so that it will not rust. Also find the left and right two card tenons, this card mortise card is relatively tight, so to spend a little more effort, pull open with your fingers. But be careful not to use too much force, so as not to break the tenon.

This is the removal of the knife group. There is also some residual powder sticking to it.

Take a look at the plastic knife holder. The whole upper knife seat is fixed with card tenon, although it feels quite cheap, it is also easy to disassemble and assemble.

4. After dismantling the knife holder, we are about to enter the highlight of the day: remove the knife holder. Let's take a look at the tools we have prepared. I bought this special screwdriver set after I went to a lot of hardware stores. It has a lot of grotesque screwdriver heads that we don't often use. In addition to the stars to be used today, there are also triangular screwdrivers for McDonald's toys. Since we have this set of tools, McDonald's toys can be repaired by themselves when they are broken. Happy.

This is the one we're going to use. A close-up.

Loosen the star screw carefully, it is very long, have some patience to turn it down. The bean feeder (also spiral) above the knife holder attached to it will turn down with it. It doesn't matter. After dismantling, you will see something like the following picture.

Pick up the metal knife group carefully with your hands. It becomes like this, exposing three small steel balls.

At this time, you can first pick up the small steel ball and pack it in a box or bowl so as not to lose it. Then grab the central shaft of the lower knife seat, lift it down, and remove the whole lower knife seat. Turning over the back of the lower knife seat, there is a lot of coffee powder stuck on the back, which is why the bean grinder is not clean.

Now in the bean grinding trough, you can see three small steel balls (if you didn't take them off first in the previous step), and the three springs below. These are all parts that can be removed by hand without tools.
