Inflorescences are dense, sprouting "through the sheath" from leaf axils, looking like a ball, calyx 3, sepals green, fleshy, petals 3, white; stamens 6, filaments bearded, ovary oval, tip hairy. Capsule 3-loculed, ellipsoid, dehiscent after maturity. The seed has an orange fleshy aril.
