Founded in 1968 near the small town of Muranga in Kenya, the Kaga plant now occupies an area of about eight acres and has partnerships with several Kenyan farmers' cooperatives, namely Mugoiri, Mogoiri, Mikaya and Moigiri, with about 740 farmers.
The location of the treatment plant is about 1720 meters above sea level, the soil is red volcanic soil, and the annual temperature of 1300mm is about 13 to 24 degrees Celsius. Its farmers have been trained by the Kenya Agriculture Bureau and have a set of strict standards in fertilization and planting. At the same time, agricultural experts even give farmers professional advice from time to time.
