French invention of frozen storage of coffee seeds
Recently, the French growth Research Institute has successfully discovered a method of long-term frozen storage of small coffee seeds, which provides a reliable means to set up a small coffee seed bank and protect biodiversity. Coffee belongs to Rubiaceae evergreen shrubs or small trees, mainly produced in tropical areas, there are small coffee, medium coffee and large coffee and so on. Small coffee is native to the Arab region and is one of the most widely grown in the world. However, because of the poor cold tolerance of small coffee seeds, the long-lasting retention of this kind of coffee seeds has always been considered difficult or even impossible. According to reports, the style found by the French growth Research Institute is mainly divided into four tracks: the first step is the drying and dehydration of seeds, the second step is to slowly cool and quickly soak the seeds in liquid nitrogen, the third is to heat them, and finally to replenish water. The researchers suggest that this method can ensure that the savings tissue of coffee seeds will not be damaged, so that the seeds can be preserved for a long time.
