Last Updated: 2024/11/03, France consumes about 180000 tons of coffee a year, and street cafes have become a part of French life. It's hard to imagine a person visiting a French city without stopping to enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee. Compared with the Italians, the French generally prefer lighter coffee. This kind of coffee is usually produced by soaking moderately roasted and coarse ground coffee beans.

Meo Coffee is located in Lille, northern France, which is an important hub of road and rail transportation. The company was founded in 1930 by a Flemish, surnamed Meauxsonne, or Meo. The company sells only 100% pure Arabica coffee and its products include Miao (Meo D é gustation, including Brazilian, Central American, Ethiopian and Indian coffee), Miao cuisine (Meo Gastronomique, including coffee from Colombia and Mexico) and prestige series (Prestige, including Santos Top Coffee, Kenya AA Coffee, Ethiopia Top Coffee, Guatemalan and Costa Rican Coffee). Mio also offers single non-blended coffee from countries such as Colombia, Brazil and Ethiopia, as well as private labels and other coffee products, which consumers can buy from the company's 22 chain stores (15 of which are in the Lille region and the rest in Paris). Some Mio coffee shops have in-store roasters who offer delicious coffee products, chocolates and wine.
