At the end of 2017, the author visited several coffee enterprises in Menglian County and Lancang County, located in the "Green Triangle" of Pu'er, to see how they helped local farmers out of poverty.

The Nanlei River flows eastward into the Lancang River into the Pacific Ocean, and the Nanka River flows westward into the Salween River into the Indian Ocean. This mountain range happens to be the watershed between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, and Paliang Village is on this watershed, so the coffee is of high quality. Mangzhang Coffee Manor, which is located in Mangzhang villager Group, Nayun Town, Menglian County, is a coffee enterprise integrating planting, processing and sales. The coffee garden covers an area of about 7600 mu, distributed in 8 hills, with an average elevation of more than 1100 meters and the highest elevation of 1640 meters. It is a typical high-altitude coffee farm. Because it is located at high altitude, the coffee fruit hangs for a long time and ripens late, so it has better quality, better taste and rich fruity aroma, so it is the top grade of coffee.

Mangzhang Coffee Garden was founded in January 1998, is a coffee base, coffee processing and sales in one of the large-scale wholly-owned enterprises. On January 10, 2013, Mangzhang Coffee was recognized as a member of the 4C Association by Nestle, and spoke highly of its outstanding achievements in the implementation of the 4C Code of Conduct for Sustainable Development. On January 19, 2013, after the quality appraisal of American CQI coffee, in the coffee ripe bean cup test report, the cup test score was 82.25 points, which belongs to high-quality coffee.

When I visited Mangzhang Coffee Manor, I was just in time to hold a coffee training here. Miguel Meza, a roaster from the United States, explains the quality of coffee through four factors: environment, nutrients, variety and treatment. Cups test coffee at different elevations, so that each student can understand how the difference in altitude affects the flavor of coffee. Huang Xujun, deputy secretary general of the Pu'er Coffee Association, said: "I hope that through such training, we can solve the problems encountered by the students in coffee processing, so as to stabilize the quality of Pu'er coffee and lay a solid foundation for the road to fine coffee." Hu Xixiang, owner of Mangzhang Coffee Farm, said that because there are more Rain Water this year and the color selection equipment has not been upgraded in time, it may lead to a decline in orders. Hangu Branch Tea and Coffee Factory in Lancang County is located in Mangnong Village, Nanling Township, Lancang County, located in the south subtropical summer wet winter dry mountain monsoon climate area, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, no severe cold in winter, no heat in summer, and a distinct dry and rainy season. Due to the complex topography, great disparity in elevation and obvious three-dimensional climate, it is very suitable for tea and coffee cultivation.

The company mainly produces and processes organic roasted Qingmao tea and organic coffee. It has a tea processing plant and a complete set of coffee production machinery. The annual output of processed tea is 160 tons, including 100 tons of sun-dried Qingmao tea and 60 tons of organic baked Qingmao tea. Organic coffee fresh fruit 700 tons, coffee raw beans 150 tons, with Katim as the main variety.

In the course of the visit, the author also found some problems in the development of Pu'er coffee industry, such as the expiration of land property rights, farmers pay more attention to immediate interests and so on. It is hoped that the government will introduce relevant policies and formulate effective measures to protect the healthy and sustainable development of Pu'er coffee industry.
