Starbucks opened the world's second bakery in Shanghai in 2017, focusing on high-end brand routes. Since its opening, it has received an average of 8000 people a day. Starbucks recently announced that Starbucks Shanghai Bakery will launch a full-day dining experience to capture the market with diversified strategies.
Belinda Wong, chief executive of Starbucks China, said in a statement that the new dining experience offers different flavors of classic coffee around the world, with Italian baking brand Princi serving brunch and cocktails, Reuters reported.
Thanks to demand for coffee, China has become Starbucks' second-largest market, but it has also set off competition in its home market, including Luckin Coffee (Luckin Coffee). Luckin Coffee said it is expected to open 2500 new stores this year and overtake Starbucks to become the largest coffee chain in China.
In fact, Starbucks is trying to boost sales, surpassing Wall Street expectations in China in the fourth quarter of last year.
