Osaya Cooperative is one of the largest cooperatives in Kenya, with 19 processing plants, such as Kamoini, Gatugi, Ichamama and so on. The Osaya Cooperative, located in the small town of Osaya in the Nieri producing area, was founded in 1956 and currently has about 14000 members. The □ Othaya Cooperative (Othaya Farmers'Cooperative Society) is located in the Nyeri producing area of the central highlands of Kenya, about 120km north of the capital Nairobi. It is currently the largest coffee farmers' organization in Kenya. The organization is almost self-organized by small farmers and is Fairtrade certified. The vision of the Osaya Cooperative is to become the best managed cooperative in Kenya; the ultimate goal is to produce the highest quality coffee, sell it at the best price, and enable all its members and farmers to live the best life.

The Osaya Cooperative currently has 19 water washing plants (Thuti,Chinga,Ichamama,Mahiga,Kagere,Gatuyaini,Kamoko,Kiaguthu,Kiruga,Gichichi,Iriaini,Gatugi,Rukira,Kiaga,Gura,Kagonye,Kamoini,Karuthi,Gitundu) and a drying plant located in Jiadu Yeni Gatuyaini, which is responsible for handling all shell beans sent from the washing plants, including shelling, grading, etc., and there are special cup testers to test each batch. Ensure that the quality meets the requirements before export to the consuming countries. In addition, the cooperative has a nursery in which a batch of 120000 seeds can be planted, the qualified seeds purchased from the Coffee Research Foundation of Kenya are germinated and planted and then sold to the coffee farmers of the cooperative, including SL28 (suitable for medium and high altitude agricultural land), SL34 (suitable for high-density planting and areas with high rainfall), Ruiru 11 (suitable for any agricultural land with good disease resistance) and Batian (high yield and good disease resistance).

Farmers grow coffee at an altitude of about 1800 meters, with an annual rainfall of 1200mm--1500mm.
