Interesting coffee knowledge: beans are male and female.
We often drink coffee in our daily life, but how much do you know about the quality of coffee?
In the eyes of real coffee lovers, small coffee beans can also distinguish between male and female, which is commonly known as male beans and female beans. In China, we basically have no contact with public bean coffee, so no business will tell you that coffee beans are divided into male and female. In fact, there will be a big difference between coffee from the same place of origin, not only in taste, nutrition, but also in price.
So what exactly is cowpea coffee?
Gongdou is a variety of coffee beans, which mainly refers to Peaberry or caracoli, while Gongdou is just a common name in Chinese. The common bean can be said to be a flaw in botanical theory, and there are two causes, one of which is that coffee is damaged by insects before forming fruit, and it may also be due to the influence of factors such as prolonged drought or uneven nutrition of coffee trees, in addition, coffee beans growing at the ends of the branches of coffee trees also have the opportunity to appear this phenomenon.
In a normal coffee tree, when the fruit is ripe, there is no distinction between male beans and female beans. Only by peeling off the fruit can you see the shape of the beans inside. If the raw coffee beans are separated from the peel and pulp, if they have been divided into two halves, they are like peaches cut open. This is mother coffee. If a whole round bean is rolled, it is called a public bean.
Public beans are called Peaberry in English and round beans in Chinese. In a coffee tree, only 5% are male beans, and the rest are female beans. In fact, male beans are deformities that occur during the growth of coffee beans. In general, coffee beans have two pieces of beans, but there is only one piece of beans, which is also known as a single bean. A piece of beans absorbs more nutrients, and the color, shape and particles of coffee beans are relatively large. The fragrance of boiled coffee is constantly sweet, and the quantity is relatively small, so it is also known as Dream Coffee.
However, because the number is too small, only a few coffee beans are male beans in an average of 100 coffee beans. Generally speaking, coffee growers are not particularly singled out to sell, and this difference is really difficult to find if you do not directly hit or contact the scene of the place of origin. Of course, there are individual merchants who will sell public beans. But as the saying goes, things are rare and expensive, and of course coffee is more expensive than beans.
