The Guji producing area is located in the south of Ethiopia, with towering mountains, highlands, plateaus, valleys and plains. The geology belongs to volcanic soil, the soil depth is nearly two meters, and the surface soil is dark brown or brown. Most of the area is undeveloped or unspoiled dense forest with withered leaves or withered roots of surrounding trees as natural fertilizer for coffee trees. The average altitude is more than 1800 meters, and there is a large temperature difference between day and night, which delays the growth rate of coffee fruit and makes coffee beans rich in aromatic compounds, forming the regional flavor of different producing areas. There are several small producing areas under Guji that are well known for their high-quality coffee.

Hambella, the birthplace of "Sakuran" coffee beans, is one of the sub-producing areas that made Guji coffee popular. The west of Humbela is separated from the Cochel Mountains of Yegashefi, separated by a highland of 3200 meters and about 30 kilometers wide, with a variety of topography. The planting altitude is as high as 2100-2300 meters, and the harvest time is from November to January of the following year. Hambella's coffee has obvious floral and sweet fruit aromas, with a well-balanced and complex taste.

Shaquiso (Shakiso)

The most famous economic activity in the history of Gu Ka is gold mines, while the main gold ore producing areas are in the northeast of Shaquiso, where early people mined gold. In the 1990s, Haile Gebre, a former governor of Oromia, saw the prospect of the coffee trade, chose to settle in Guji after leaving the government and worked with farmers to grow coffee in Shaquiso.

In order to dig out more interesting and cost-effective beans, many boutique coffee buyers began to look for coffee beans near the Yegashifi producing area, turned their attention to ancient geisha, and finally discovered this remote but generous land. The average altitude of Shaquiso is 1800-2200 meters above sea level. In the book Fine Coffee, Shaquiso's coffee flavor is summarized as "sweet lemon honey notes".

Uraga is located in the northernmost part of the Guji producing area, with an elevation of 2300 meters. It is very close to Yega Xuefei and has rich black soil. The Wulaga region became famous relatively late and became known only after it achieved good results in the 2019 TOH competition. Wulaga's coffee has a sense of tea, rich flower and fruit aromas and superior acidity.

In the flavor map of Guji coffee produced by Dutch raw bean company Trabocca, citrus fruits account for the most, followed by drupes, berries, flowers, chocolate and other aromas. At the same time, it has a lively and bright acidity and juicy feeling, medium mellow thickness and smooth taste. The overall flavor is between Yegashifi and Sidamo, and the aroma structure is complex.
