Nossa Senhora Aparecida
The story of Sitio Nossa Senhora Aparecida begins in the early twentieth century. At that time, the large estate was merged into a medium-sized farm and carved up by heirs. In Brazil, many "large property heirs" give up or lease their land.
Leticia Seda is a descendant of an Italian farmer. She named it Sitio Nossa Senhora Aparecida and built a home for her family.
But making the farm economically viable is a difficult challenge. Leticia's husband, Luis Enrique (Luis Henrique), works 400km away to support his family and farm. Leticia is in charge of all the farm operations. She is often ignored by the coffee industry: it is a male-dominated industry.
Leticia still proved that she was no different from other coffee farmers. Years of dedication, trial and error have opened the way for Siddio Sassenhora Apalexida's specialty coffee. Today Leticia is the director of IWCA and AMECAFE of Mandy Quilla de Minas. She develops projects for more than 50 women, producers and workers in the region with the aim of improving their coffee.
