Finca Leoncio
This land was inherited by my grandfather Leoncio, and in memory of him, I called the farm by his name. It is located in Lourdes in Nalancho and belongs to us for more than 80 years. It has been inherited from generation to generation. My family is beautiful, we are five people, my wife, my three daughters and me, all of us are very involved in this activity because we rely on it. This activity enables us to pay all the necessary expenses, such as food, education and others.
The varieties grown on Leoncio farms are Villa Sarchi, Kenia SL28 and San Roque. The coffee is picked by Panamanian natives, who are experts in picking 100% ripe cherries. This is my first time to try natural coffee, I usually do not do this process, because I personally prefer washed coffee. I decided to try this approach, San Roque, which has become the first choice for COE buyers since I saw a good natural process become so popular.
CAFETALERA HERBAZU, founded from 2000 to 2001, is a pioneer in coffee processing in Costa Rica, made up of four brothers who process their own coffee and the other four brothers' coffee. Our biggest advantage is that we can handle the coffee on our land, so we can control the whole coffee process, from planting to grinding. This is how we guarantee the quality of 100% coffee. In 2015, Leoncio won the first place in the excellent Cup.
