New East Ritter is located in the westernmost part of Guatemala City. This is one of the newest coffee producing areas in Guatemala with a history of 50-70 years. Traditionally, only small producers grow coffee to supplement their other crops, but now you can find bigger farms and easier access to better roads.
The cloudy and rainy New Dongfangshan area is located in the old volcanic belt. The soil consists of metamorphic rocks, in which the mineral balance is very different from that in active volcanic areas. The coffee beans produced here are balanced and full-bodied, with a chocolate flavor, and are most suitable for espresso and mixed coffee.
