Huehuetenango (often referred to as "Huehue") is located in western Guatemala, bordering Mexico. The Hugh region of the non-volcanic highlands is protected from frost, thanks to dry hot winds blowing from the Trent Peck Plain in Mexico. This allows planting at extreme elevations to create good strong acidity, full-bodied wine and pleasant wine, floral and fruity flavors.
Hugh is a very remote area with some difficult roads. It takes 8-10 hours to get from Guatemala City to most farms, and the road is rugged and dimly lit. However, because of their wonderful cup-shaped features, this is one of our favorite areas.
Over the years, we have gained experience and knowledge about the area, farming methods and post-harvest processing, which enables us to empower and support local farmers. We are also famous in this area, and some people even say that we have changed the way people look at the coffee industry, especially the new generation. They expressed a strong interest in continuing the long tradition of small producers growing coffee.
