Organic certification procedure
The production method of organic certified coffee is in line with the standards of organic agriculture. These standards vary worldwide, but organic coffee production strives for ecological balance, protection of biodiversity and recycling of resources. The use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers is often limited, as are the use of irradiation, industrial solvents or synthetic additives.
As a pioneer in organic coffee, we are the first company to bring organically certified Ethiopian coffee to market. We use American, European and Japanese organic standards for several different types of coffee. Every partner in the supply chain needs to be certified to be effective, and regular audits are needed to verify the effectiveness of the certification. In addition, the laboratory also conducted random tests on the batches to detect pesticide residues.
For example, the EU certificate shows that the product meets the requirements of EU regulations. Every organic product produced in the EU is legally required to have an EU logo and certificate.
