Commonly known as "Jember" by Indonesians, also known as "Selection 795", S795 was selected by the Balehonnur Coffee Research Station in India. It is considered to be a hybrid of S288 (a natural hybrid between Liberia and Arabica) and an old Kent variety (a typical variety that has adapted to Indian growth conditions). S795 is the most common Arabica coffee grown in India and Southeast Asia, and it is also one of the earliest varieties resistant to coffee leaf rust.
