El Borbollon (Apaneca Ilamatepec)-El Salvador

The Alvarez family has grown coffee in El Salvador for more than 100 years and has gone through four generations. Their award-winning farm is located on the lush green hills of Santa Ana in the west of the country, where rich volcanic soil and mild climate provide ideal conditions for growing coffee. The beans that make up El Borbollon come from two nearby small farms, La Reforma and Santa Maria. From December last year to March this year, coffee trees were picked by hand, and pickers were specially trained to pick only the best, fully ripe coffee fruits.
