This extraordinary geisha is from the world-famous Finkelida, the first coffee plantation established in Panama, and is still famous for producing the best and most satisfying coffee in the world. Finca has an idyllic background and fascinating origin stories. No wonder it is so famous. But the real secret of its fame lies in its cup. This coffee is fully packaged: it has a place of origin and a unique, delicious shape. With strong floral aromas (think of bergamot and jasmine), subtle acidity and round taste, we are proud to offer this amazing enjoyment, which is not available anywhere. "Esplendora" means "brilliant" in Spanish, hence the name of this coffee.
Lerida College in Finland was founded in 1917 by Norwegian engineer Tolev Poche Monich, who graduated from the Royal College in Dresden, Germany.
After participating in the design and construction of emergency hatches for the Panama Canal sluice and the giant wharf in Cologne, Torrifbacher went to Chiriki Heights in 1911. He was looking for a place to rest with clean, fresh air and recovered from his fourth malaria attack. After sailing in a small boat along the Pacific coast for seven days and riding a horse for several hours, he arrived at a unique place: Finkelida. It is located on the high ridge of the Central Mountains, 10 kilometers from Pokuit, and was a semi-prairie and semi-tropical forest at that time.
Monniche retired from the Panama Canal in 1924 and moved to Finca Lerida with his wife Julia. Here, he built a Norwegian-style house by hand and planted the first coffee plantation in Panama. In addition, he designed and patented the siphon, a device used to distinguish between good beans and bad beans. Coffee plantations around the world now use this device, including the Finca Lerida, where it is still used to choose the best cherry exports.
The farm is currently managed by the Chiari family, who coordinate coffee cultivation, protect the pristine rainforest around the farm, and operate boutique Finca Lerida, providing tourists with the opportunity to stay on the farm. Finca Lerida's reputation can be traced back to the first batch of coffee exported to Germany by Panama in 1929, when the high-quality coffee produced by the plantation made international buyers realize that Panama had more than canals.
