In 1986, 100 grams of Pu'ertuo tea produced by Xiaguan Tea Factory was brought to France and won the Golden Rooster Award in Paris.

The meaning of Tuo tea
People in Yunnan are used to calling massive objects "Tuo", so after they created bowl-shaped tea, they called it "Tuocha". Cha means "tea".
In addition, Yunnan Tuo tea was sold to Sichuan at that time. People in Sichuan make Tuo tea with water from the Tuojiang River, which makes the tea taste very good. Later, there was a saying that "tea is closed under the Tuojiang River".
The birthplace of Tuocha is located in Xiaguan Town, Dali, Yunnan Province. Tuojiang makes Tuocha more famous, and they have the same word "Tuo".
Characteristics of Tuocha
Tuo tea is made of loose tea pressed into a bowl by a machine. The raw materials of Yunnan Tuo tea are mostly Sanpu'er tea, and those of Chongqing Tuo tea are mostly Sichuan black tea.
Tuo tea looks like a bun from above and a thick bowl from below. The middle is concave, very distinctive. It is said that in ancient times, compressed shapes were made to facilitate long-distance transportation and long-term storage.
Each tuo tea weighs 50 grams, 100 grams, 250 grams, etc. Usually in the packing, the bark rope or bamboo strips are tied into a bag and wrapped with Wutuo tea.
The color of Tuo tea is black, brown or yellow. After brewing, the tea is bright reddish brown. It has a unique fragrance of Chen and a mellow taste.
