How to use the pressure pot to make milk foam cappuccino and latte
French filter press foam is made by pouring hot milk into half of the French filter press, then pushing the plunger up and down for 1.5 minutes, pushing air into the milk to provide delicious foamed milk, which can be poured on coffee or hot chocolate. This is its basic knowledge, and you can use the instant powder to make a latte.
How to soak milk in a French kettle
If you want to do this correctly without causing great confusion, you need to perform three main steps.
Step 1: weigh the milk to the French kettle
When the milk is poured, the volume of the milk doubles, so if the French press is too full, it will expand and pour on the counter. It won't destroy it, but it wastes a lot of milk, and then it must be cleaned up.
Use about 10fl ounces for 2 cups of coffee or hot cocoa, depending on how big your cup is.
It cannot be underfilled either, because the plunger must be able to reach into the milk to push the air through, and there is a large gap at the bottom for coffee grounds.
Step 2: heat the milk until it is hot without boiling
It is easy to overheat the milk, so it tastes bad and will crust on it. You need to do it step by step. I made two rounds of 10 liquid ounces of milk in my 750 watt microwave oven in a minute. If you are using a stove or a different number of stoves, do not overuse it, just like making hot cocoa.
You need to heat up the milk, or you will end up with a cup of cold coffee. You don't need to heat it to form foam, but if it's cold, it won't be a good drink.
Step 3: soak the hot milk for 1.5 minutes
I've tried several different lengths of time, and if you put less time into it, it won't blister enough, it just dissolves in your coffee. Not only that, it turned into foam, with no milk mixed with coffee.
Step 4: pour milk foam on espresso or coffee
If you want to make cappuccino coffee, you will need to pour the hot foam milk into the cup, and then pour the coffee.
Why is the cappuccino in the French kettle better than the latte
The milk is not actually steamed, so the milk made by the French press does not have the same consistency. But you can make a cappuccino, because bubbles are very similar, and that's the essence, even after the first sip you get a foam beard.
But the latte does not have foam, so if the milk is foamed and poured out without leaving foam, it tastes a little stronger than ordinary coffee with milk, but it is different. I just think you're drinking a cup of coffee with a strong milk flavor.
But again, considering that it's not bad at home, and you don't have to pay for the expensive machine that actually steams milk, I even see some people use French presses to make lattes, so they can do it.
