What's the difference in the taste of Tieguanyin? How much is the authentic top Anxi Tieguanyin Tea in 2021?
One of the features of top Tieguanyin is attractive green. The quality of this tea is surprisingly good, which is very different from my Tieguanyin. This tea far exceeded my expectations. I added 8.5 grams to a 100 ml lid bowl to test this tea. It is a bit too many leaves (the leaves enlarge and fill the lid bowl), but the tea is very capable of dealing with this proportion without being unhappy at all. This kind of tea is neither astringent nor bitter, unless the force is too strong, even if the force is too strong. This is the real high-quality green Tieguanyin. In the cup, the tea is sweet, smooth and fragrant. The soil of this tea is different from any other green Tieguanyin I have drunk so far. Green Iron Guanyin has a bad reputation. I don't think it should be. Some green Tieguanyin are really great. However, low-end things are definitely not!
The tea has a mint aroma and even a hint of coolness in the throat (chlorophyll), especially in the first soak. There is absolutely no astringency or bitterness in the first brewing, even if my proportion is very high. In the aftertaste, I tasted some tropical fruits, which is not uncommon for high-quality Green Iron Guanyin: the main flavor of the first brewing fruit is sweet pineapple, but then I also tasted some cantaloupe, dates and even some sweet coconuts. When I push hard, I only feel a slight astringency and bitterness, which complement the overall characteristics of this tea. My supplier suggests mixing 2020 batches of Tieguanyin with more roasted Tieguanyin to achieve a balanced configuration. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure I'll try. This is a kind of good tea I recommend to anyone! Anxi Tieguanyin Tea's quality has improved every year over the past six years or so, which is a good example of the improvement in the quality of modern Anxi tea.
