The purpose of the competition is to select the best coffee beans in Panama and to be auctioned by global buyers through the BOP auction platform, many of which are expensive because of their high quality and flavor. From August 7 to August 8, Panama also held an auction for the best Panama in 2024, and the results of the auction have also been announced.

It is worth noting that this year's bid was won by Arida Manor Sun Rose Summer, which won the championship with a high score of 95.13 in the competition, while the auction price was as high as 10013 US dollars / kg in this auction.

At present, according to the exchange rate, 1 US dollar is about 7.16 yuan, and the summer sun roses at Arida Manor have reached 71898.1 yuan / kg, a price that shocked the coffee circle and set a new world record.

In last year's 2023 BOP auction, Carmen Manor won the championship with a washing score of 96.5 points and sold at a price of 10005 US dollars per kilogram, which had already set a new world record for scoring and selling prices.

Although this year's Arida Manor's Rose Summer failed to surpass in rating, it broke the world record again in terms of auction price at US $10013 / kg. In addition, in this auction, the rising star Lorani Manor has won the first place in the Rose Summer Water washing Group with a high score of 95.5. in this auction, it sold for 10002 US dollars per kilogram.

Many people in the industry say that this year's price is much higher than before, all because in 2023 BOP multi-variety group, Dark Moon Manor Ciloso auction for 488 US dollars / kg. By 2024 BOP Multibreed, also Dark Moon Manor, had bid as high as $1630 / kg, about three times what it was in 2023.

Although the first competition for the Best Panamanian BOP was held in 1996, the award-winning coffee was sold at $2.37 per pound in 2002, which was already five times the price on the world market. In 2004, the Jade Manor made the rose varieties famous by taking part in the best Panama (BOP) competitions and auctions, with unusually high cup test scores and a price of 21 US dollars per pound. Since then, the auction price of BOP coffee is still setting a new record.

Earlier in China, some coffee shops launched hand-brewed coffee from the 2023 BOP King Carmen Manor, with a price of between 4988 yuan and 13333 yuan per cup. These high-priced coffees are based on factors such as bidding costs, freight, taxes, store operating costs, and wear and tear in the baking process. The auction price is higher this year, and if the coffee shop sells a cup, the price may be even higher.
