What varieties other than rose summer coffee does Panama Jade Manor have? What kind of coffee is Diamond Mountain?
Geisha has always been a popular coffee variety, and according to the World Coffee Research Center, it was first discovered in the forests of Ethiopia in the 1930s. It was then sent to multinational research institutions and spread to Panama in the 1960s.
It was not until it was discovered by the Emerald Manor and participated in the BOP competition that Rose Summer Coffee became popular all over the world. However, before the arrival of Rose Summer, Panama, like other Central American countries, mainly planted Kaddura and Catuai varieties. The Emerald Manor is no exception. Kaduai has always been planted and sold under the Diamond Hill brand.
At present, Jade Manor has three coffee plantations, namely, Jaramillo, Canas Verdes and El Velo. In these plantations, in addition to planting Rosa and Kaduai, there are also many different experimental varieties, such as SL34, Pacamara, Laurina and so on. For this reason, the Varietals collection (Multi-Variety Collection) brand has been launched in recent years.
The rose varieties are mainly divided into competitive bidding lots (Esmeralda Auction), jadeite special selection (Esmeralda Special) and private collection (Private Collection). Among them, the jadeite special selection and private collection is also commonly known as the red mark and the green mark. In addition, this year, the jadeite manor also launched a "black mark" batch, selecting some experimental batches in the red mark, special treatment method or extremely high altitude plot planting batches, the color of the logo is black.
The Kaduai variety is sold as Diamond Mountain, which symbolizes its high quality and unique flavor, just like precious diamonds. Choose to plant on the farms of Jaramillo and Canas Verdes, grow Kaduai at an altitude of 1400-1600 meters, mainly with water washing and sun treatment.
The Catuai variety is produced by the Sao Paulo Institute of Agronomy (IAC) in Campinas, Brazil, and is a hybrid between New World Mundo Novo and Kaddura Caturra. Its name comes from the Guarani language multo mom, which means "very good".
Compared with bourbon, Kaduai's overall tree shape is smaller, the fruit is compact, it can be planted densely, the yield is high, it can be planted at higher altitude, and it is of excellent quality, so it is very popular. Therefore, Kaduai varieties are grown in many estates in Panama.
And all the plantations of the Emerald Manor are located in the Boquete producing area of Panama, which is the main coffee producing area in Panama, located in the western province of Chiriqui, near the famous Volc á n Baru, thanks to the fertile volcanic soil and the unique and changeable local microclimate, coffee and other plants can grow well here.
Although it is not as good as Rose Summer in variety, it is also subject to the unique environment of Pokuite producing area and the high quality management of Jade Manor. It is also very excellent in quality and cost-effective. Diamond Hill, an emerald manor on Qianjie Street, uses traditional sun treatment. After cooking, you will smell a slight sense of fermentation caused by sun treatment. The entrance will have a bright acidity, citrus, nut and honey flavor, and a smooth taste. Finally, there will be a cocoa finish.
