As early as the end of last year, a number of Japanese netizens on the social platform photographed a storefront with the brand logo in Downbori, Osaka, and then some people posted a job advertisement for a store that convinced many fans that this may be where the first tea store in Japan is located.

Recently, the official account of Xi Tea gave an accurate response on the public platform, saying that the first store in Osaka, Japan, would officially open on February 15 to welcome visitors from all directions. At the same time, the gossip related to the new store surged in a short period of time, and the pricing of drinks concerned by consumers and the limited refrigerator maps of the surrounding party appeared one after another on the Internet, arousing the curiosity and attention of the onlookers.

However, when netizens stared at the price of drinks at the Xicha Osaka store, they were surprised. Judging from the menu displayed in the mini program, the variety of drinks in Osaka shop is not as rich as that in China. At present, there are only four categories: Qianmu matcha tea, fruit tea, milk tea and original liquid tea.

Most of the drinks have a price range of 950 to 1,250 yen, and the cheapest drink is 550 yen (about 26 yuan) of pure green Yan tea. Looking at this unexpected price list, many netizens can't help wondering, "is this price really bought by the Japanese?"

We should know that without additional ingredients, the price of favorite tea in the mainland is generally 828 yuan. Due to the higher cost of transporting materials in remote areas, the unit price of the product is higher than that of mainland cities, but it has not broken through the 30 yuan mark. By comparison, the price of happy tea in Osaka store is more than double that in China, which makes many netizens say bluntly that it is difficult to accept.

In this regard, some people think that the material cost and rent of Xicha overseas stores may be higher than those in China, so that brands need to keep profits by raising the unit price of drinks, but this view has not been recognized by overseas users.

Take the Qianmu thick matte latte on sale as an example, the price of the drink varies in different countries due to different exchange rates, and the unit price range is 34-58 yuan in RMB. Among the many stores, the most expensive is the American store, which sells for $7.99, followed by the Osaka store in Japan, which sells for 1150 yen (54 yuan). From this point of view, the products of Osaka stores are not cheap in overseas stores.

Compared with domestic beverage shops in Japan, the price of favorite tea is also higher than the local market price. Some netizens posted the price lists of Honey Snow Ice City and COCO Japan stores. The price of the drink is very different from the happy tea menu, "twice as much as the average milk tea store" and "Starbucks seems to cost about 500yen per unit".

A Japanese netizen even described the price of Xi tea in terms of the local price of rice, saying, "you can buy 5 kilograms of rice if you buy 4 cups of happy tea", which immediately made local consumers feel the high price of tea drinks and told them to be persuaded by their menu price.

After learning the menu price of Xi Tea, the leftovers, who had hoped to open a store on the streets of Japan, admitted that their high unit price of drinks made them less eager for the opening of the new store. Many people even said directly that instead of spending more than 1000 yen to buy a cup of milk tea, it would be more cost-effective to use this money to buy a bowl of full ramen.
