Coffee Culture Story Coffee Culture in Hong Kong

The origin of A Mai's study
Since its opening in March 2004, A Mai study has been committed to creating a creative and cultural life. The bookstore on the second floor of Yun Ping Road, Causeway Bay, has become a focal point for book-loving and music-loving people, and even a pilgrimage place for literary and art youth in the mainland and Taiwan.
In the beginning, the A Mai study also made its own coffee and cheesecake, and held a variety of activities in a small space of less than 400 feet, including unplugged concerts, film shows, symposiums, exhibitions, theatrical performances, and so on.
Later, with the increasing variety of bibliographies and music, it became clear that the smaller space could not allow the audience to drink coffee and participate in activities comfortably, so the coffee part was put aside for the time being and the activities were moved to a space outside the study. A Mai study Museum was established at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 2006 to add more reading atmosphere to the diversified arts center.
From the beginning to the end, the clerks did not forget the smell of coffee until we found this bunk on Caroline Hill Road, so the smell of coffee will float again on the road with stone brick walls and trees.
About Mackie Kitchen
From the beginning of homemade coffee brewing in the study, A Mai's study has placed great emphasis on the quality of coffee. Having a good cup of coffee is as pleasant as reading a poem. Although coffee chains are flooding the market and the so-called "coffee culture" seems to be quietly spreading in Hong Kong, how can a single flavor bring out the essence of coffee?
Mackie Kitchen specially hired Coffee Assembly as a partner, regardless of coffee beans, brewing methods and even the flavor are excellent, will be able to bring customers hearty coffee enjoyment, coffee is not just catering.
In addition to espresso, Mackie Kitchen also offers exquisite Mediterranean cuisine and a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, so that friends who love healthy eating can find suitable dishes here. Of course, delicious desserts are even more indispensable! Enjoy a thoughtful and enjoyable meal, recharge yourself and continue your busy life.
The exquisite kitchen created by book lovers
This is the first time that A Mai study has been involved in the catering industry, and the new restaurant staff have all evolved from A Mai study members! Before they became Mackie Kitchen clerks, they were all members of Ah Mai's study. They would usually come to read books, listen to music, and pay attention to the study newsletter to see what interesting things were happening.
The opening of the restaurant unexpectedly created their fate to become a clerk from a pure customer. It is also a very interesting experience for them and the restaurant.

Select and savor music
Music has always been an excellent match between coffee and gourmet food. Mackie Kitchen has a selection of good music, from independent musicians to European sketches, so that guests can enjoy delicious food in the most relaxed and comfortable state.
In addition to playing music in the store, Mackie Kitchen will also select CD, which is different from the general mainstream music, to sell. If there is a chance, it will even bring independent musicians to the audience, giving good music one more channel to reach the audience.
Communication platform
Adhering to the humanistic spirit of A Mai study, Mackie Kitchen will also become an important platform for cultural information exchange in Hong Kong. Customers can see the latest art information on the blackboard in the hallway, and they can also get some interesting free publications. The most important thing is that it is unknown if there is one more romantic place for cultural creative people from all walks of life, which may lead to some interesting cultural events.
Organic activity space
Ah Mai's study is always full of infinite possibilities. Numerous unexpected and interesting events have taken place in the small study. With the new space of Mackie Kitchen, more activities will take place here! Small concerts, art exhibitions, symposiums... Let's feel how "organic" the activity space will be in the future.
