There are many kinds of electric coffee pots, so the methods of use are not the same. When in use, it should be used in accordance with the requirements of the product instructions, and can generally be operated according to the following steps:

1. Add water: each electric coffee pot requires a rated amount of water, which includes the amount of water absorbed by evaporation and coffee powder, so when in use, it should be specified to add water, neither too much nor too little. If the amount of water added is too much, it is easy to overflow out of the kettle when the water is boiling, which may wet the electrical components and cause damage; when the amount of water added is too little, the electric heating element can not be immersed in water and is easy to be damaged by dry burning. It should be noted that when adding water to the percolation type electric coffee pot, the aqueduct and coffee filter should be removed, and cold water should be added to ensure that there is enough percolation time in the process of brewing coffee, so that the coffee liquid is not too light. On the other hand, the vacuum or drip type electric coffee pot only needs to take off the upper pot or open the lid of the water reservoir and add the right amount of water.

2. Put coffee powder: all electric coffee pots have special containers for holding coffee powder. The amount of coffee powder should be determined according to everyone's hobby. Generally, it is appropriate to put 5-10 grams of coffee powder in a cup of 150ml water. If the coffee particles are larger, you can appropriately increase the amount. When putting coffee powder into a special container, the percolation type electric coffee pot should first remove the distribution plate above the filter; the vacuum type electric coffee pot should open the lid of the upper pot body and be careful not to sprinkle the coffee powder in the aqueduct; the drip type electric coffee pot should first put a special filter or filter cloth and filter paper in the container, then put it into the coffee powder, and add a small amount of boiled water to slightly moisturize the coffee powder and filter paper.

3. Open: after adding water and putting away the coffee, put all parts of the electric coffee pot back to the prescribed position, seal the place that needs to be sealed, set the control switch and thermostat for brewing coffee, etc., and then press the power supply to make coffee.

4. Drinking: when extracting coffee liquid, you should first judge whether the coffee powder in the pot has been soaked before drinking. For the percolation type electric coffee pot, if the indicator of the high heat element is off, it means that the coffee has been made and is in a state of heat preservation, and can be drunk at any time; for the vacuum type electric coffee pot, when the water in the upper pot is completely reduced to the lower pot, when the brown coffee liquid can be seen through the transparent lower pot, it indicates that the coffee has been brewed. For the drip-type electric coffee maker, when the indicator is off, you can remove the filter and pour coffee out of the coffee bottle.

5. Cleaning: the electric coffee pot should be cleaned in time after each use. The parts that need to be cleaned include water container, coffee powder capacity, distribution board, filter and so on. If the filter paper is used once, it should be thrown away. When cleaning, we should also be careful not to splash the electrical part of the base, let alone soak the whole electric coffee pot in water to avoid damage to electrical components and control mechanisms.
