Take-out coffee is not afraid to spill. Viora Lid will help you.

Last Updated: 2024/11/02, I believe that people who have taken out coffee have had such an experience that when there is a bump, the coffee in the cup will spill out. A few days ago, Seattle-based Vaporpath came up with a solution.

The company has developed a plastic lid called Viora Lid that prevents the liquid in the cup from being shaken. The most important feature of Viora Lid is its angle design (as shown in the following figure).

Vaporpath said that this unique design can greatly reduce the occurrence of coffee spill. In addition, Viora Lid will also change the way people drink. It imitates the design of the ceramic cup, which not only makes the drinker no longer unable to control the amount of coffee at the entrance, but also allows the aroma of coffee to enter the body's olfactory glands.

However, Viora Lid also has some drawbacks, such as the impact-resistant polystyrene (HIPS), rather than the more environmentally friendly plastic. Vaporpath said that HIPS was chosen because of a comprehensive consideration of cost, thermal deviation, odor introduction and other factors.

It is reported that Viora Lid will be displayed at the recent American Special Coffee Association trade show. At present, some coffee shops have begun to try out this new type of coffee cup.
