In 2010, Baoshan small Coffee Geographic indication Protection successfully passed the expert technical evaluation organized by AQSIQ, becoming the first successful geographical indication protection product in Yunnan Province in 2010, and the first approved protection product in Baoshan City.

It is reported that after Baoshan small-grain coffee is approved for protection, various economic indicators have reached new highs year after year. By 2012, the planting area of coffee in the city has reached 253000 mu, with an area of 175000 mu, with a total output of 35000 tons, with a total output value of 800 million yuan, profits and taxes of 9 million yuan, and exports of 10640 tons. Export earned 37.54 million US dollars. Industry insiders believe that the use of special marks for Baoshan small-grain coffee geographical indication products will play a positive role in protecting the quality of Baoshan small-grain coffee, enhancing the competitiveness of Baoshan small-grain coffee in the international market, and promoting the development of Baoshan small-grain coffee industry.
