Nestl é promotes the sustainable development of Pu'er coffee cultivation
On May 19, another 611 Yunnan coffee farmers and coffee growing companies passed an international third-party audit and obtained 4C(Common Code for the Coffee Community) certification, allowing them to sell coffee that meets 4C standards. This is the third batch of 4C certified coffee suppliers since July 2012. So far, Nestle Coffee Expert Group in Yunnan has provided free training for more than 3000 local coffee practitioners, distributed 4C management manuals, banned pesticide lists and Nestle Coffee Good Agricultural Practices, etc. to help them understand the benefits of 4C entry-level standards and take an important step towards sustainability.
Meeting the 4C threshold is currently the most popular management rule for sustainable development in the world. It covers the entire supply chain from coffee cultivation to consumption, and sustainable production, processing and trade of coffee through the establishment of indicators in social, environmental and economic terms. The 4C training is designed to enhance coffee supply chain management and help Nestlé suppliers achieve sustainable improvement.
