The benefits of drinking coffee every day to protect the liver and drink coffee
Long-term excessive consumption of coffee is bad for your health, but drinking a moderate amount of coffee is not only refreshing, but also has a variety of health benefits. A new study published in the Journal of Hepatology, a journal of the American Society of Hepatology, found that drinking coffee regularly can reduce the risk of liver fibrosis in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the Times of India reported.

Dr. Stephen Harrison of the Brooke military Medical Center and his colleagues conducted a further survey of 306 participants in an earlier study. The results showed that there was a negative correlation between coffee intake and the risk of liver fibrosis. That is, coffee can reduce the risk of liver fibrosis in patients with liver disease.
Dr. Sanjiv Shaupura, a professor at Harvard Medical School and an expert in liver disease at the Beth Israel Deacon Medical Research Center in the United States, said that participants who drank coffee regularly had lower levels of glutamic pyruvic transaminase (one of the important markers of liver disease) than those who did not drink coffee. Since then, a number of studies have shown that coffee has amazing hepatoprotective effects. Drinking two cups of coffee a day can reduce hospitalization and mortality rates for chronic liver disease by 50%, a study has found. Another study showed that drinking one cup of coffee a day reduced the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 20%, and drinking two cups of coffee a day had a protective effect of up to 40%.
