The fastest coffee-powered car made in Britain is 107 kilometers per hour.
Coffee beans give off aroma when people make coffee, so what about driving with coffee? Will you smell coffee, too? British engineer Martin Began has built a coffee grounds-powered car that has been tested to reach a speed of 66.5mph, making it the fastest coffee-powered car in the world.
Martin reinstalled fuel power and filters on the coffee truck so that discarded coffee grounds could be turned into heat-driven engines. This kind of fuel is not only environmentally friendly, but also cheaper than gasoline and diesel.
However, Martin-Began's coffee-powered car is not the first in history. Last year, popular science show host Stansfield and his friends modified a used car. They installed raw material buckets and heating devices in the trunk of the car. Coffee grounds were heated to produce combustible gas, which was led to the engine from pipes mounted on the roof of the car. It powered the car and created the world's first "coffee car."
