Ethiopia has launched nationwide preparations for the Shanghai World Expo, the Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced today. It is reported that the Ethiopian exhibition area at the African Joint Pavilion will tell visitors the story of the origin of coffee and showcase the rich natural and cultural heritage of the East African country.

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ethiopian Minister of Culture and Tourism Mohamed introduced the preparations and theme ideas for Ethiopia's participation in the exhibition on the same day. It is reported that the Ethiopian exhibition area is divided into three parts: the beautiful ancient city of Harar Jugol, eight World Heritage sites in Ethiopia, and the story of the origin of coffee. Ethiopia is universally recognized as the "hometown of coffee". The word "coffee" comes from a small town called kaffa in the Ethiopian highlands. Visitors may even taste authentic Ethiopian coffee in a small cafe with local flavor.

Mohamed thanked the Chinese government for its strong support. According to the commitment of the Expo bid, the Chinese government provided a total of 100 million US dollars in participation assistance to the relevant developing countries. In accordance with the relevant standards, 48 of the 53 African countries have received assistance, including Ethiopia.
